| What is Numerology? Numerology is the science of reducing names, birth dates and other significant dates down to their numerical equivalents in order to divine the future.
Most people instinctively realize that some numbers are lucky or hold the key to the future. For instance, many people win the lottery by reducing there loved one's birth dates to a numerical sequence.
Most of the world's great religions also maintain numbers that contain hidden or secret meanings that hold the secrets of the universe. Modern numerology system is inspired by components of numerological systems practiced in Babylonia, as well as systems practice that Pythagoras and his followers in sixth century Greece.
Modern numerology also takes it cue from books on early Christian mysticism, the writings of the early Gnostics, The Indian Vedas, and the Chinese "Circle of the Dead". There was also an early Egyptian numerology system, which is too esoteric for most people to understand.
Numerology was all the rage with ancient brilliant mathematicians, such as Pythagoras who also studied something called Gemetria, which was the numerology of the Hebrew alphabet. In this instance, numerology was used for everything from divination to healing. The study of Gemetria is a bit of a lost art except amongst Kabbalists who use it to divine prophecies from the Zohar.
Numerology is no longer considered part of mathematics and is regarded as pseudomathematics by most modern scientists. Today, numerology is often associated with the occult, alongside astrology, tarot reading, crystal ball gazing and the like.
Numerology is also used to define certain qualities. Each number has it's own qualifying meaning. For instance 1 means wholeness, 2 means coupling, 3 means fame, 4 means health problems, and so forth. Numerology 9 is an interesting number as it means completion of the cycle that will turn over to the 1 again in a life cycle.
Another important component of the practice of numerology is digit summing. Digits are added up and ridiculed to a single number whose meaning is then divined. Sometimes, digit summing is used to create a word as each letter is the equivalent of a value.
In one sort of numerology, the letters of the alphabet are given the values that they have as they are lined up. In another sort, called the Chaldea system, each number is assigned a specific value.
The Chinese also have a numbers system that is designed to answer questions. For instance, the number 1 means yes, the number 2 means having an easy time of it, the number 3 means live and let live, and the number 4 means hardship and so on.
In fact, numerology exists in just about every culture. Today, you could still use any of these systems to divine your future. All you need to do is a little bit of research.

How to find what personal year you are in Take the month and day you were born and add it to the currant year. For example someone born May 16 living in 2005 would add 5+1+6+2+5=19=1+9=10/1 (Leave the zeros out of 2005) So this person would be in a 1 year in 2005 Numerology & Cycles Everything runs in cycles Seasons, night and day, years, the moon, the planets menstrual cycles, etc. In other words everything runs in circles, like a wheel. Different things have different time periods for these cycles For instance the seasons run in cycles of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. It takes 12 months for these seasons to pass and come around again All cycles are guaranteed to return There are only 9 numbers so the number cycles are in 9s the 0 is not a number but gives each number power Since there are 9 numbers they are divided evenly by 3. The 12 month season cycle works the same way and the 12 months are divided evenly by 4 so each season is 3 months. March, April and May would be the season of Spring. June, July and August would be the season of Summer. Sept, Oct and Nov would be the season of Fall and so on. Only until Winter ends would Spring come around again. So seasons and cycles are in a definite order. A person's life began at the number 1 and unless you know his time of death it is almost impossible to guess exactly what season he is currently in. Except by looking at his life in 9s. By this you could say a man should live 9 x 9 years or 81 years. That would equal 9 cycles of 9 years. This makes me think that maybe reincarnation works the same way. Does man return to continue the cycle he was in at death? Could this explain why some children are born and suddenly cross over? Or are there 9 cycles of 9 years he must return again and again? A Brief Summery Of Each Personal Year 1. A time we begin a new 9 year cycle. A time to achieve our goals. Because we will be adjusting to a new life, it may feel chaotic. We often find new love in a one year. 2. A time of waiting, balance & harmony. There may be Love and romance and even parenthood 3. This year brings luck fun and friends. It may herald a new exciting job. We'll see a lot of growth and new horizons. There may be a reunion or a very special party. This year can bring about marriage 4. This year will bring hard work which will lay firm foundations. This year may feel restrictive and limiting. A year that brings about real estate matters. It is not a good year to change careers. There is often something involving hospitals and surgery or other confining institutions 5. After the restrictions felt in the 4 year, this year brings about freedom, romance, pregnancy and change. Finances may be up and down. People often change jobs during the 5 year and many times it is a year when we can lose a job through lay off 6. The 6 year is about harmony and peace. The focus is on family, homes and often brings about a situation concerning our parents. It can bring about an overwhelming desire within us to get married and start a family and can often bring marriage 7. This year often brings about searching within ourselves to discover who and why we are. We often do a lot of soul searching. Because the number 7 is a spiritual number we usually focus on meditation and prayer and do a lot of research in theology. Many times we can feel empty and may turn to drugs and alcohol to numb us. 8. This year is about reaping what we have sown in the past 7 years. This year often brings us success and may bring about the fruition of at least one of our dreams. We may have financial and material gain. Usually we will change the place where we live and our long standing relationships will be effected in a 8 year 9. This is the end of our nine year cycle. It is a time of far reaching changes. A time to say goodbye to people, things, places and patterns. There could be the feeling of great loss. But all these endings is life's way of clearing our lives of things that no longer serve us, to make room for our new life in our new nine year cycle. In my experience we get married in a 3 and 6 year. We lose jobs and obtain unexpected money in a 5 year. And a 9 year often leaves us feeling loss. By going back over important events in our lives and doing the math, we can see that we as people fall under the numeric and cycle rule, because the Universe is an orderly place. About The Author

Numerology and divination from numbers was once considered to be part of Mathematics, especially during the time of Pythagoras. But no longer, Numerology is now considered a pseudo mathematics and part of the occult. Numerology is the study of the relationship of numbers and objects including the living. Modern Numerology contains certain aspects from a wide variety of teachers and cultures, which includes the following, Babylonia and of course Pythagoras in the sixth century B.C. Greece. It also brings in aspects of Hellenistic Alexandria astrology. Modern numerology also includes early Christa inanity, early Gnostic's, the Kabbalah, Eastern Vedas, "Circle of the Dead" from China and the " Book of the Master of the Secret House" from Egypt.
Both Pythagoras and St. Augustine of Hippo both agreed that everything had a numerical value and it was up to us to figure out the secrets set by "divine grace." As St. Augustine stated, "Numbers are the Universal language offered by the deity to humans as confirmation of the truth."
Ironically, these men lived many centuries apart and were of different religious beliefs. Since St. Augustine of Hippo was alive 354-430 A.D., and this was shortly after the First Council of Nicaea decided that Numerology was an unacceptable belief. But Numerology still survived in spite of this decision, especially what was considered the sacred numbers like the "Jesus number."
Numerology can also be found throughout literature such as, for example, "Sir Thomas Browne's 1658 Discourse the Garden of Cyrus" and more recently, Ruth A. Drayer's book," Numerology, The Power in Numbers." In this book, she states, that about the turn of the 20th century (from 1800 to 1900 A.D.), Mrs. L. Dow Balliett took Pythagora's work and combined it with Biblical reference. Then Balliett's student, Dr. Juno Jordan, made further changes to Numerology in the middle of the 70s and helped to put the system known today as 'Pythagorean' on the map.
Now how does it work? Numerologists use a process called as digit summing, which is reducing a number or word to a single digits number. To achieve this, a letter is assigned a number.
1 = a, j, and s
2 = b, k, and t
3 = c, l, and u
4 = d, m, and v
5 = e, n, and w
6 = f, o, and x
7 = g, p, and y
8 = h, q, and z
9 = i and r
To further explain numerology, take a number like 7,654 the equation would look like this...
7 + 6 + 5 + 4= 22 then that number is further reduced like this...2 + 2= 4.
The number 4 is the single digit you are looking for.
In the case of a word, say Bird, the equation would look like...
B = 2
I = 9
R = 9
D = 4
2 + 9 + 9 + 4=24 further reducing 2 + 4= 6
The system used in the examples were in Decimal Arithmetic otherwise known as 'Pythagorean' however there are other forms that can be used like; Hexadecimal, Octal, Binary and Vigesimal. The same number that was used in Decimal which uses a base of 10 has a different sum in any of the other. In other words, no two systems will yield the same answer.
People are familiar with this form of numerological divination - The use of their names and their birth date. This will then be used to help analyze and give definition to a person's personality. Using the Decimal system a person's name and birthday can be reduced down to what is called their "Master Number."

Your Transit Letters are based on your birth name; your full name as it was written on your birth certificate. This includes any misspellings and qualifiers (Jr., III, IV, etc.) that were actually recorded on the original document. Any legal changes to your name, or corrections when recording it later don't count; only the original birth name is used.
Each word or qualifier in your birth name generates an additional Transit Letter for you at any one time. Also, each name in your birth name has a particular period or cycle which is repeated thought your life as you grow older. This is best illustrated by an example.

Lets examine actor Johnny Depp's Transit Letters to see what I'm talking about. First, Johnny Depp's birth name is 'John Christopher Depp III'. This gives him (4) transit letters in affect at any given time in his life; each name producing a letter.
Each letter in the alphabet has a duration which matches it's fadic addition position in the alphabet.
A = 1, B = 2, … I = 9, J = (10) = 1, K = (11) = 2, …
Y = (25) = 7, Z = (26) = 8.
When we look at a name, we record the corresponding numeric values and get the period of the name.
John = 20 Years

His first name has a period of (20) which comes out of his age 2 times, leaving 3 Years. So His first name Transit Letter was 'J' from 2003 to June 2004, and will be an 'O' from June 2004 through June 2010 (six years.)
His second name has a period of (67) so we count in 43 years as follows:
CHRISTO = 3 + 8 + 9 + 9 + 1 + 2 + 6 = 38 years.

His third name has a period of 23 years, which comes out of 43 once, leaving 20 years. So we count in 20 years as follows:

So his transit letter of 'P' began on his 39th birthday (23 + 16) in June 2002, and will run for (7) years when it will be replaced by another 'P' which will run for (7) more years until June 2016.
His fourth birth name always gives us a transit letter of 'I' throughout his entire life.
So Johnny Depp's current transit letters are: O, P, P, and I. They remain in force until June 2008 when the O turns into an 'H'.
This is the process of how Transit Letters are calculated. It's complex enough that we want to leave it to computers to do the dirty work for us.
