How To Unleash The Power Of Prayer

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory ~ Phil.4:19

Today a dear friend of mine could not pay the rent. She was in grief. Yet ironically this same person had acquired a new job and a new lover in only a few weeks when she needed that to happen in her life.

I told her to pray and to contact the invisible power that had brought her the previous things that she needed.

She doubted that it would work again. Like most people she found it impossible to believe in the impossible. She attributed her previous results to luck, effort and charm.

Perhaps you, like her, share the same view that some things just aren't possible.

I'd like to talk about case histories of impossible situations that got turned around because the person chose to unleash the power of prayer rather than succumb to what appeared possible.

* A woman who was out of work with bills piling up was desperate. She had three children and no money. She tapped into the inner power by affirming the following over and over again. "God supplies all my needs now." Her sister whom she had not seen in 15 years dropped in unexpectedly and gave her $5,000.

* An elderly woman on a small pension could barely make ends meet. She prayed in the following way: "God's wealth is circulating in my life. His wealth flows to me in avalanches of abundance, and I give thanks for my good now and for all of God's riches." Two weeks later a man knocked on her door and offered to buy a worthless piece of land she owned in the desert because his company wanted to run electric cables through the area. He cut her a check for $10,000.

* An inventor had little money to promote his new idea. He learned from a spiritual counselor that all he had to do was to pray to make this idea come to life. Shortly afterward, he met a prominent businessman at a self-help lecture. The businessman not only paid to sponsor the invention but also contracted with interested parties who could manufacture and market it.

* A writer could not get his works published despite pouring his heart and soul into his novels. Then he adopted this affirmation, "God's wisdom writes this novel through me. My intellect is illuminated, and I write a novel which inspires, blesses, and is a boon to mankind." He found himself waking up in the middle of the night with remarkable ideas for his stories. He got published and found the process of creating and publishing effortless from that time on by simply praying for good ideas.

* Finally, a real estate agent found it difficult to make money at his business. He then prayed for three month in the following way: "The limitless riches of God are flowing to me as fast as I can receive and use them, and every man gets richer day by day." Within those three months, his income trebled.

How and why prayer works, I don't have a clue. All I can say is that the evidence of things not seen must prevail in your consciousness if you are to overcome your particular challenge. Prayer makes the impossible, possible.

Healing Rain - 6 Little Prayers That Bring Divine Healing

Ok, let's start with the amazing story of Robbie and how a little-known scripture in the book of Galatians got him healed of cancer - after the doctors had given him only 6 months to live!!

Ready? Here we go...

Robbie at 45 was diagnosed with terminal cancer several years ago and was given just 6 months to live. He and his wife Nancy, resigned to this fate, and retired to a small community to wait for the end.

They were Christians. They believed the Bible. So, instead of blaming God like so many in this kind of situation do, they made up their minds that they were going to study the Scripture and pray till the very end.

An old story remembered

But Nancy also remembered a story she'd read years ago. It was about a certain missionary in the jungles of Africa who came down with a deadly disease and was left to die. After a week of intense suffering and pain, he had a dream.

In the dream, he saw his Bible opened at a certain chapter and two verses of scripture highlighted in red. He woke up, managed to open his Bible to that chapter and painfully copied out the two verses.

Scripture Verses in Action

Every few hours he would pray using those two verses. The pains were tormenting him. On the third day, he drifted off to a painful sleep after the prayers, as usual. Many hours later, he was awakened by a fearful sound - the roaring of a lion. He leapt to his feet, and started running blindly for a while.

Then he stopped.

It suddenly hit him that he was completely healed... he was feeling no trace of pain at all!

Nancy remembered this story vividly and hope began to rise in her that God could also intervene and save the life of her husband.

Persistence

So they continued to praise God, even in this circumstance. They kept right on thanking Him. And they kept praying.

Then it happened.

During prayer one night, a verse of scripture in Philippians kept coming into Robbie's mind. To his surprise, Nancy stopped abruptly after a few minutes and announced she was going to search for a verse that'd been flashing in her mind since they started praying.

Guess what? It was the exact same verse that Robbie was thinking about. They opened the Bible, found it and began to use it everyday in prayer.

The miracle begins

The 6 months came and went. Robbie was still alive. In fact, he seemed to be getting better and better everyday.

One year. Two years...

Robbie was back on his feet. He even went back to his old job for a while. Five years later, he retired to become a full time missionary. He's still in the mission field a decade after he was supposed to be dead from terminal cancer!

Prayer changes things.

P.S. The scripture in Galatians and the prayer points that Robbie prayed are all detailed in the latest edition of my popular ebook "Prayer Cookbook for Busy People."

Secrets To Reading The Bible

Did you ever wonder why the Bible is so hard to read? It is simple really. God is looking for people who are willing to pursue Him. The Bible is like a gold mine. Now, if I were to give you a real live gold mine, would you just walk in and pick up the gold? No, of course not. You have to dig for it, but the reward is incredibly valuable. I promise if you dig into the Bible you will find secrets FAR more valuable than just gold.

The Bible is also like is a jigsaw puzzle. It is not until you complete it that you really start to grasp the whole picture. I encourage you most strongly to make a decision to read the whole Bible. My secrets in this article will help you.

1.) Get A Version You Can Understand.

The Living Bible is the easiest to read, but it is a paraphrase, not a translation. This means that the translators tried to translate the meaning of the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, not the exact words.

The New American Standard Version (NASB) is generally accepted as the most accurate modern translation. It was translated with the benefit of the findings of the Dead Sea Scrolls (1946) and the storeroom of Ezra (Egypt, 1872) which were not available in earlier English translations. It is still somewhat difficult to read, however.

The New International Version (NIV) is another painstakingly accurate modern translations, but it is very readable. It too is highly recommended.

The King James Version and The Catholic Bible are the classic American Bibles, but they can be very difficult to read. If you are a member of a church, your Pastor or Priest may have a specific version that they recommend.

2.) Every Time Before You Read:

Ask God to open your eyes and your heart to His Word.

3.) This Is The Order In Which To Read The Bible:

The Bible is broken into two parts: The Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is the history of creation and the Jewish nation, along with stories, writings and warnings from God's prophets.

The New Testament is the story of Jesus and the early Christian church along with instructions on how to be a Christian. We live under the New Testament - which is a new way of life which God set up through Jesus.

The first 4 books of the New Testament are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and are known as "The Gospels." (This means "Good News"). These are 4 different versions of the same story - The Life of Jesus. They are 4 eyewitness accounts of Jesus' life. So read in this order:

Matthew, Romans, 1&2 Corinthians

Mark, Acts, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians

Luke, 1&2 Thessalonians, 1&2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James

John, 1&2 Peter, 1,2&3 John, Jude, Revelation

4.) Read One Chapter At A Time.

This will take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes.

5. ) You Will Need The Following Tools:

A pencil and a ruler.

6.) This Is How You Use The Pencil And Ruler:

When you read, underline anything that strikes you as important or interesting. When you finish the chapter, look back over the things you have underlined and draw a box around the most important thing in the chapter.

When you finish a book, review your boxed verses and make a double box around the most important verse of the book. Doing this is simply a tool to help you realize what you are reading. You will get much more out of reading the Bible this way.

7.) When You Finish The New Testament, START OVER

You will be amazed at how God's Word is new & fresh every time you read it.

8.) After You Have Read The New Testament, Then You Can Add The Old Testament.

Read the Old Testament in the order in which it appears in the Bible. To read the whole Bible in a year, you will need to read 1 chapter of the New Testament and 5-7 pages of the Old Testament.

Here is the way to know the number of pages you will need to read: Take the total number of pages in the Old Testament and divide by 200. Let us say the result is 5. Your goal will be to read 5 pages of the Old Testament 20 times a month for 10 months. Aim for everyday, but 20 times is the monthly must-have goal. This gives you 2 months of extra built-in leeway and 10 days leeway per month. If you get bogged down reading the Old Testament, turn to Psalms and Proverbs. But never give up reading the New Testament for the sake of reading the Old Testament.

9.) The Best Thing You Can Ever Do For Your Spiritual Life Is To Read The Whole Bible EVERY Year.

WHY should you do this? Because it is where faith comes from. "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard through the word of Christ." Romans 10:17

And how important is faith? This is what the Bible says: "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." Galatians 5:6

10.) Note This Web Site:

Biblegateway.com. This is an incredible on-line concordance. A concordance lets you find a Bible verse by any single word you can think of. For example: You can type in "love" and it will give you every singe verse containing the word "love." They have this for every well-known version of the Bible in many languages.

In Conclusion:

This plan will effectively help you to read through the Bible. You will find that the Bible is "alive." You will be reading along and - BAM! - something will jump off the page at you, like it was written ONLY for you for this EXACT moment of your life. It is AMAZING and it will happen over and over. It is no wonder that millions of lives have been changed by the Bible and that a surprising number of people have even given their lives so that you might have the right and the ability to read it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Does God Hear Our Prayers

In the Christmas classic, It's A Wonderful Life, the movie starts out with the hero in dire straits and almost an entire town praying for him. The opening scene shows stars in the sky while we hear the prayers of the townspeople rising up to heaven. God answers those prayers by sending an angel down to Earth to help the hero. From there a touching story unfolds about the many ways that a good person influences the lives of those around him. Although it isn't the main point of the movie - we all get to see God taking an active role in our lives by answering the prayers of the townspeople.

But It's A Wonderful Life is only a movie. In real life we rarely see how God answers prayers. Prayers are so personal that we rarely ever discuss them. By keeping silent though we lose the opportunity to share some of the real wonders of our lives - the answers to our prayers. Some of the greatest moments in my life have been when I've believed that one of my prayers was answered in a very direct manner.

I had an experience 20 years ago that changed the course of my life. It happened in the space of a heartbeat but changed my life completely.

Although I felt at home in the church I had been attending for 7 years I did not feel close to God. I could feel God's presence - but I felt apart from Him. It was very frustrating. I could see God at work in other peoples' lives but not in my own. I began to feel jealous of others and angry with God. Then something happened.

I was walking on the beach one day when I saw a man about my own age playing in the water with another man who was obviously mentally handicapped. As the day wore on I kept looking at them playing together and I grew angry that the one man could be such a good person. I couldn't fathom how someone could be so good as to genuinely enjoy playing all day with a mentally handicapped man. Finally, in my utter frustration, I wished that both men would drown and I cursed God for allowing me to see the good in others but not the good within myself. I decided then and there that religion was either a form of self delusion and that God did not exist or, if He did exist, that He did not listen to our prayers or care about us as individuals.

A few weeks went by. I stopped praying and I stopped going to church. Then, one afternoon I got an answer (I hadn't really thought that I had asked a question). In the space of a heartbeat the answer was just there. "I do not allow you to see the good in others to frustrate you. I allow you to see me at work in others lives to inspire you. I do not keep myself apart from you. I am always with you. It is you who keeps yourself apart from me. Open your heart. There are as many ways to draw close to me as there are people on the Earth. Be patient - you will find your way."

The perspective of my life shifted back then and my life has been immeasurable better ever since. , I can honestly say that I have lived a life almost entirely free of envy or jealousy. What's more, I am constantly inspired by the good that I see in almost everyone I meet.

If we are to be ambassadors of our faith we must get past any awkwardness we feel in discussing our own personal experiences. If we can do that we can work effectively by drawing on our own inspiring stories to bring others closer to God.

The Power of Meditation In Your Everyday Life
Learn to be silent. Let your quiet mind listen and absorb. - PYTHAGORAS (580.B.C.-500 B.C.)

It is said that we have over 60,000 thoughts daily and that much of those are the same as those that we had the day before. In other words we exist in a perpetual chatter in our minds. It is little wonder then that all our miseries and our pains we experience are created in the chatter that we keep repeating to ourselves.

It is only recently that the concept of being silent through simple exercises like meditation has started to be embraced in the western culture. In the western culture we value noise. Think about a conversation that has a pause of silence, it is perceived as uncomfortable and even embarrassing so we rush to fill that silence with noise. We spend very little moments in our daily lives in the silence and yet it is in the silence where we will find true bliss.

The benefits of meditation go far beyond just the silence. Meditation has also been linked to a reduction in stress, anxiety and improved well-being. We can all do with less stress in our lives and integrating small pockets of your time daily can do wonders for you. Think of it as taking time out each day for yourself. You wouldn't think twice about taking out some time out to have coffee with a friend or walking your dog in a park so why not subscribe daily to taking time out for yourself.

Practicing meditation needn't mean selling all your worldly possessions and joining a Buddhist monastery. You can do it without affecting your current lifestyle. Simply find a quite place that you can be undisturbed for about 15 mins and set this aside daily for your meditation. It might be a room in your house. A good time is either in the morning before work or in the evening before retiring to bed.

You can place a few cushions to make it more comfortable and sit down in your quite space. Simply close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing. Breathe in deeply through your nose for a count of six and breathe out through your mouth for a count of six. Simply repeat this until you feel a sense of calm throughout your body and focus on relaxing.

Don't worry to much about your thoughts, try initially to focus on your breathing. As you do this more and more begin to focus more on the breathing and try to empty your mind of thoughts.

The idea with meditation is to take time out of your daily routine for yourself. Have fun with it.

Daily Prayer Journal

Being Christian e-book publishers as well as the fact that we just celebrated the 'National Day of Prayer', we tend to get a lot of e-mail asking questions regarding prayer and the receiving of God's 'good things'. Unfortunately many people think that there must be some 'special methods' or 'tools' or even special words needed to get God's blessings! I'm saying it again here, that it just isn't so. No special words, phrases, methods or tools are needed to receive God’s blessings.

One needs to understand that when they are feeling a 'bit strange' or a 'bit philosophical' even ‘serendipitous’ that it is okay and most times those feeling are to assist us in recognizing them as the 'Call To Prayer'. All one has to do is to simply answer 'The Call'. God wants us to receive all the best ‘things’, all those daily needs as well as our wants and desires. So then why hasn't anyone come forward and said, 'wow, all I did was such and such and I started getting so and so'? Why, because it doesn't work that way. It only works that way in scams and multi-level-marketing plans! The actions one does are needed; however the more important aspect is in the change of a human heart. Change your heart to the fact that you are a child of God and that He truly wants you to have all the best of the best. He only wants you to do one simple thing, talk to Him! Oh yes, most people call this 'talking', simply praying.

The most organized way I know of how to bring the power of prayer and a deeper relationship with God is through the use of a daily prayer journal. Now, don't go off and say that I said you need some special tool to get God's blessings. No, the use of a journal is for our benefit and not the ‘magic ingredient’. Will God answer someone’s prayers without the use of a prayer journal? Of course, it is just an easy way to keep organized, but not a necessity. Your daily prayer journal is yours and yours alone, it can be fancy or it can be very plain. Your journal is for your eyes only, so make it 'work' for you and ‘your ways’. Most of the ladies I talk with find it very easy to switch over from doing some sort of a daily diary to a working prayer journal. Many guys, however, frown at the first mention of it until they too realize that they actually do some sort of daily diary keeping such as in their Day timer, Palm pilot, Blackberry, or even their blog. We all have some sort of daily diary keeping to some extent or another. All we need to do is switch from doing a daily 'to-do' list to a personal prayer journal. Once we have some sort of daily prayer journal we need to outline how we should use it.

The next important action you will need to do is to make a promise to yourself that you will set aside a small amount of time each day to have personal devotions with
Bible reading and prayers. Whenever you feel moved or you are feeling ‘serendipitous' about a certain thought or over the meaning of a Bible passage write it and some of your other thoughts down and then, let it be for the day. Once every week or two go back and re-read your writings and make new notes of how those questions, thoughts, events and/or prayers worked out. You will be amazed that you can now see 'The Hand of God' moving in your life. That is why it is so important for you to write down everything you are feeling and/or thinking about the day, your work, the family or the Bible passage that you just turned to by accident and so on.

I understand just how simple it sounds however; you will experience it by taking the time to work with your journal daily. This is the beginning of a whole new life for you. By reading the ‘word’ of God (the Bible) you will begin to have a daily ‘walk’ with Him and wonderful results or outcomes just simply begin to happen. If you don't have a Bible look me up at one of the addresses below and I will see to it that you get an electronic version sent to you. Either way spend time with 'The Words of God', and you will begin to understand and to feel closer to God. The amount of reading you should do is up to you as to how much time should you spend is all based on how fast you read and so on. Again, it's all up to you and your ways.

After reading your Bible passages, 'meditate' which means nothing more than to 'seriously think' about what you read and how it applies to you, or if it applies to you at all. Next it is very important that you truly understand your lowliness and the ways you have hurt God. By either doing or not doing, by saying or by not saying what you should have! It is really important to be truly contrite or remorseful for your wrongs as well as have a serious and sincere wanting to correct these in the future, with God's help of course.

Now is the time you have been waiting for; the time for expressing all the wants and wishes you need and/or want. Unfortunately, until one really understands the whole devotional process I am highlighting here, they won't understand that this is not to be the biggest and/or longest part of their devotions. If one truly spends the time and understands just how undeserving we are, any amount of God’s blessings is more than any of us deserve. It doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t ask for this or that, it is only meant to be understood in light of our contrition. Ask and it will be given unto you in good time. However, don't allow this to become a wish list of things you just must have in order to keep up pace with
Mary Lou and her husband! Many deeply religious people have said that once they truly understood personal devotion and true contrition they stopped asking for anything for themselves and spend the time trying to receive 'things' for others who really needed 'things'. I mention this to not marginalize anyone but only to convey the true devotional environment and contrition we need to possess. Once we have read Bible passages, understood our wrongs and developed the proper contrition, and even relayed our desires, it is time for contemplation. One should try to spend at least five or ten minutes not reading, not talking, not wishing, not writing not anything just contemplate silently that God is our Heavenly Father who loves us and wants only the best of ‘things’ for us. Then as we wait in the silence, we want to see if we can hear God speaking to our hearts. After, you have spent enough time for the various stages the next item is to write in your journal all the things you prayed about, all the things you read about as well as all the 'feelings' or 'understandings' you came to with God while in contemplation. That's it! You are now done with your daily personal devotion! You will find that the more you have of these daily devotions the more time you will want to spend doing so.

I will like to think that I can suggest this action and that you would be honest to yourself and in turn you will then promise yourself, to try and do personal daily devotions of thirty minutes or so for just one week! If you do, you will find it the most rewarding time of the day! You will be re-charged and re-inspired and will beam with inner-light. Seriously! Others will ask you if you have been losing weight or working out in the gym. Just smile and say thanks. Now if you wish to share with them that is okay too. You need be aware of this one point, that if you tell another what you have been doing, be prepared for them to come to you and ask you to pray for them a lot of times. Once you have really begun to be comfortable and have found that you now ‘need’ this special time each and every day, you will then be ready to begin praying for others regularly. After a short time it will seem more important to you to pray for others and less for yourself. It is in this understanding that the truly grand benefits begin to manifest themselves for all parties!

When someone asks you to pray for them be sure to write all the facts and details down. Then don't lose the note and don't forget to pray for them once you are in your personal devotional time. There are a lot of fancy prayer journals with professional Christian stationery on the market. I would suggest that for the first trial week, you should go cheap! Use notebook paper and an old dusty three ring binder or something to that effect. Once you begin to feel more comfortable and the need for daily devotions becomes stronger and something you plan to do daily, then spend some money and buy the real fancy version if you wish.

Starting daily devotions with your prayer journal will help keep you focused and mindful of the 'things' you wanted to bring to God in prayer. Working your journal, going back and forth and plotting your progress will help strengthen and build up your faith. As you read the sacred scriptures you not only develop a more intimate daily relationship but will also begin to delve deeper into the various mysteries of God and His word. Being organized with a personal prayer journal will help you to stay focused during prayers. Some people end up sharing, as a legacy, their prayer journals with some younger family members. I don't suggest doing so because you are working on you, for you, and that really isn't anyone's business. You do as you wish; however, you will find that you won't be as open and honest as you would be if nobody but you were reading your journal. In any case, start today because there isn't a much better time to begin daily devotions and working with your prayer journal, than right now! God bless!

Prayers: Our Direct Channel to God

Faith and belief systems have guided and supported humans since the beginning of time.

As Christians, our faith can offer reassurance and comfort throughout our life. During times of joy or times of sorrow and all times in between we know that God’s love is always with us.

Prayers are how we communicate with God. By speaking with God our relationship with Him grows.

Prayer can be used in many ways. We may be asking God for help, thanking Him for the blessings in our life, or simply communicating with Him in much the same way we would have a conversation with a friend or spouse.

Communication with God helps to strengthen the relationship we have with Him.

While some Christians pray on a daily basis others seldom pray. Reasons given vary but many say that they lack confidence in how they pray.  Others say they simply lose focus.

Lack of focus can result in scattered ideas and less effective outcomes. The simple act of writing down what you want to pray for can be helpful.

Making a list of the people, situations, and other matters that can be a helpful tool. It helps to solidify the purpose of the prayer and can be referenced if needed.

This simple idea can result in increased confidence because the individual will pray more strategically and effectively. That can lead to praying more frequently and even an increase in one’s faith.

Of course, special prayers are often used for special occasions and situations. This method of praying can simplify the process because the words have already been written. A word of caution though, the words are more than just content to be recited or read – they must be prayed.

In other words, the need for focus remains. Focus is usually insured by virtue of the occasion itself. The use of such prayers can help to build one’s confidence and enhance their ability to strategically pray at other times. The point is that there are ways to boost one’s confidence in their prayer techniques and aptitude.

The author, Jimmy Pathern, advocates the use of Prayer Cards to help develop one’s prayer poise. The cards can be either general in nature or occasion specific. Just as special occasions such as a Baptism funnel selection of items considered being Baptism Gifts, they also guide the prayer choice.

When Speaking

Prayers of Faith, Using His Words From the Holy Bible, We Can Expect Things to Happen

“...Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he [says] shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he [says].”-- Mark 11:23

We find ourselves once more looking at this truth that was opened by our Master concerning the mountain being removed at a word of command. Please take notice of the fact that Jesus first spoke the words, “...Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea…” We must assume that the mountain is the symbolic form used to show the accumulation of human anguish and pain caused by sin in this world. We also must see that it is possible to have this mass of human misery removed by speaking the living words of Jesus when we prayer. It is obvious that we can enter in to His faith and connect with His omnipotent power to reach the victory over sin and death while on earth. But we must pray without any doubt in our hearts, so we can share Christ’s faith to achieve the purpose of the Father. When we speak our prayers using His words from the Holy Bible, we have an official reason from Jesus, to expect the things we say to happen.

Our prayers can clinch every word of promise and every word of purpose spoken by our Lord in His Word. Our faith and prayers can join His faith and prayers and support Him in the final completion of His and our Father’s will and work. When using this gracious truth for the things which Christ has spoken in clear expressions of eternal truth, it is not hard to understand that our prayer of faith becomes an important part of the whole plan of redemption. We are assured that every word spoken in prayer will be answered in the final return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Because it is written,

“And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.” Acts 3:20, 21

Paul unmistakably shows this final victory of Christ when he said,

“Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” — 1 Corinthians 15:24-26

Our hope and expectation is built on nothing less then Jesus’ blood and righteousness. For the final rescue from all the effects of evil in our bodies and minds will be accomplished when He comes to be glorified in us, His saints, and to be accepted in all of us who believe in and are waiting for that day. When He appears we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. We will share in His final victory over disease and death. We will hear Him say to that mountain of sufferings, “...Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea...,” and this will happen.

In sight of this reassuring hope let us continue to pray in faith, without any doubt in our hearts. Let us rest our faith on the undying love of Christ, asking for nothing more than to be counted worthy of His pleasure to the end of life on this earth, or until He comes for us.

The possibilities of prayer are gauged by faith in God’s ability to do. Faith is the one prime condition by which God works. Faith is the one prime condition by which a person prays. Faith draws on God to its full extent. Faith gives character to prayer. A feeble faith has always brought forth feeble praying. Vigorous faith creates vigorous praying. Christ asks this pointed question, “When the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?”

-------------------------------------------------------------------Faith: The Essential Virtue

Anyone reading the Bible, not least the New
Testament part, must be struck by the considerable
emphasis which is placed on faith. Of course, faith is what ultimately ensures our salvation so we would
expect it to receive considerable stress. That aspect of faith is what takes us out of this life into the Kingdom.

Yet this is not an act of faith which, as it
were, stands alone. It is the ultimate act of faith which, albiet having guided our lives, comes at the culmination of those lives. Jesus clearly intended those lives to be lived through a succession of acts of faith.

TWO PRINCIPLES OF FAITH
There are two principles of faith which are of great importance and which should guide our lives.

1. Faith Is The Byeword For Those Who Watch.
What this means is that we need to be people who constantly watch in faith. We watch both for where and when the Lord is active in our lives and the world around us; but also for where he could be brought into a situation through our prayer of faith.

This general attitude can and should be regarded as a way of life: we are always being, not merely aware of God, but of where he is active and where he could be active if we intervened in prayer for his action. For, in the latter respect, Jesus told us:
"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. (Luke 11. 9, 10 NIV)
Now, it would surely have been superfluous for him to have said this if God always supplies what is needed anyway, without his being asked. The unavoidable implication of what he says here is surely that there are, in fact, many things which we do not receive simply because we do not ask for them.

Hence our lives should be expressed through a repeated asking, seeking and knocking. This is not to be implemented in a selfish seeking for one's own advantage, but through a constant watching in our lives at the events around us, and which occur in the world, for those opportunities through which God can intervene as a consequence of our acts and prayers of faith.

Sometimes these may concern things which do affect us personally and directly; at other times they will relate to world events in which we are not directly involved but which we do need to pray for in faith. So faith becomes the byword for Christians, the thing which, along with love, is our distinguishing characteristic.

2. Love Is The Sensitivity Of The Poor In Spirit
This may seem quite different from the first principle but is, in fact, highly comlementary to it. The poor in spirit are such because they know their absolute reliance on God for all things -- and that reliance is a continual act of faith. Indeed, this can be seen as an essential underpinning for the
first principle. One of the main reasons why some Christians are not people of an active and daily expressed life of faith is because, although they may acknowledge it in principle, they lack the realisation of their utter dependency on God for all things.

Our objective is to make every aspect of our life subject to faith. Even when we pray, we should not do so without asking the Holy Spirit to be our Pray-er. (see my book "The Keys To How To Pray" on the Christianword web site given below). When asked about it, almost any
knowledgeable Christian will affirm the role of the Spirit in this respect. But how often do we form and structure our prayer our selves?. Yet this is a practice which separates the faithful Christian from the less faithful Christian. Truly this is where our life of faith should start. But it should not end there. Indeed, if i sit down to write an article like this without asking for the Spirit's guidance and inspiration, what good is that?

Let us begin our life of faith with and in prayer. Paul advises us that it is the Holy Spirit who does our praying, not us. For example, Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:18 that we should pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. So however we are praying and whatever we are praying for, we are doing it in faith and therefore relying on the Holy Spirit to accomplish what we cannot.

Abundance and Prosperity is our Decision

Do you realize God has placed a big dream in your heart? Are you aware of what it is? If so, are you in motion and pursuing it? Or, are you sitting idle? Maybe you're waiting for God to make your dream come true. After all, He is God, and He can do anything, right?

Those people who say God can do anything are misinformed. God cannot do just anything. He has a nature and he will not act in a manner that is inconsistent with His nature.

For example, God cannot lie. It's against His nature to lie. It's also against His nature to make us do something that we refuse to do. Like, accept His Son who died on the cross to save us from our sins. Jesus only saves us according to our belief and confession in Him (Romans 10:9,10). It's our responsibility to ensure our salvation just like it is our responsibility to pursue our dreams.

It is our responsibility to pursue our dreams, but remember what Jesus said in John 15:5, Without Me, you can do nothing. Obviously, we need the Holy Spirit's help in everything we set out to do.

In our own strength, it's fleshly, weak, frustrating, and it will surely fail. Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it (Psalm 127:1). We simply must be in agreement with God by aligning our will up with His.

If we know what we are supposed to do, then we need to do it. The Holy Spirit releases His power the moment we take a step of faith. Hebrews 11:6 says, "Without faith it is impossible to please God."

It's been said, You can't steer a parked car. Just like a parked car cannot be steered, God cannot steer us in the direction we need to go unless we are moving.

God waits for us to act first. Just like when Joshua faced an impassible obstacle, the flooded waters of the Jordan River receded only after the leaders stepped into the rushing current in faith (Joshua 3:13-17).

Step out in faith and go after those things that God has called you to do. Time waits for no one.

If you are not sure exactly what you are supposed to be doing, maybe you just need to "step out to find out." He will reveal His will to you after you get yourself into motion.

On the other hand, if you have a big dream that you absolutely know without a shadow of a doubt God has called you to pursue, are you pursuing it?

Don't wait for God. He's already done His part by giving you the dream in the first place. He will only do more as you get moving. By doing something you are proving your faith in Him, for faith without works is dead (James 2:17).

The Importance Of Prayer And Meditation With God

Prayer and meditation have been proven in multiple settings to have a profound influence on peoples health and especially on hospital patients. People who pray and meditate daily have shown marked decreases in stress hormone levels. They have also been shown to age better, live longer, and handle adversity far better. Basically, people that believe in God and pray consistently are happier and have a better quality of life. Why is this?

People that pray and meditate feel a sense of belonging. They are not alone to face the perils of this world. All major religions believe in a God and that through this prayer and meditation they can communicate with God. They can ask for forgiveness and ask for help. It has long been shown by psychologists and psychiatrists that it is essential to have a sense of belonging for proper mental health. People that are loners by nature tend to die early, not look and feel as healthy, and do not handle adversity and stress well. They tend to hold it in and then blow up on those that are actually trying to help them.

Prayer and meditation let one detoxify their body and mind of toxic thoughts. Just like toxins we are familiar with, toxic thoughts can bring on depression, dark thoughts, hatred, mental illness and even suicide. Toxic thoughts and being alone are very negative for good mental health. By praying and meditating we are distressing our bodies and learning to put ourselves and our minds in a relaxed state. The best thing is that prayer and mediation are free. You can do it anywhere at anytime, in an elevator, in a quiet room, before going to sleep at night, the possibilities are endless. Prayer will help clean your mind of worry and stressful thoughts and replace them with thoughts of hope and serenity. Prayer before bedtime has been proven to reduce or entirely eliminate the need for sleep pills altogether in some cases.

Prayer should not be thought of as a chore. It can be as simple as the infamous Lords Prayer:

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Basically in the Lords Prayer one is asking for forgiveness, for deliverance, guidance and that Gods will be done. In Matthew 7:11 it says:

So if you, weak mortals that you are, are capable of making good gifts to your children, do not you think your spiritual Father will give even better gifts to those who ask him?

We need to realize that regardless of our religion, God is infinitesimally smarter beyond any human comprehension and knows what is best for each and every one of us. God may not always seem to answer our prayers in the way we would like, but that does not mean he does not hear us. God gave us the gift of prayer so that not only could we talk to him, but so we could heal our bodies and better cope with the stresses of daily life. Through our prayer and meditation we can learn patience, forgiveness, hope, love and true happiness. This is why some biblical scholars say prayer is Gods greatest gift to mankind.

A More Intimate Relationship With God

How do you develop a closer relationship with God?

This question is one most Believers today are asking. In this email, rush-around, hurry-I'm-late world, you have enough trouble keeping up with your friends. Nevertheless the God of the Universe, the Creator of all mankind, but a relationship, an intimate one at that, is what all people crave.

It's that empty part of yourself that you are always trying to fill. The part that you try to fill with drugs, alcohol, love, success and being popular. No matter what you fill it with, there is still a hole. A big, gaping hole.

Maybe, like me, your relationship with your earthly Dad left a lot to be desired. Perhaps you've had a hard time relating to God as your Father because of it. Maybe you transfer your relationship with your Dad onto God and expect Him to be the same way. I know I've been there, done that too.

God is not like your earthly Dad. Perhaps your Dad abandoned you in your time of need. Maybe not physically but emotionally. God will never leave you. He will never forsake you. He will never turn you away when you need Him. He is not your earthly Dad, who didn't have all the answers. He knows everything. He knows what you need before you need it.

God is more than your Father. He is your friend. Some children experience their Dads just as Dads, like me. Others, though, experience them as friends. They can tell their Dad anything. They know in the good and the bad, their Dad has their back.

The same is true for you, as a Believer. You can not only experience God as Daddy but as friend. You can share your most intimate secrets and feelings with Him, and He will never turn you away. He will never abandon you (Hebrews 13:5). There is nothing that you can say or do that will cause Him to stop loving you. He won't be shocked or surprised by your actions. In His presence, you are safe. Safe from criticism. Free from fear. Free from ridicule.

How do you develop a closer relationship with God? How do you develop a closer relationship with a human being? No matter if they are your mother, your neighbor, your friend or a potential mate, if you want a closer relationship with them, you must spend time with them.

With my friends, I send them letters and cards to let them know I am thinking about them. We talk through email. Through each letter, I learn more about them as a person.

You cannot email or write letters to God and expect them to be deliver to Heaven in their physical form. Nor can you expect an email or letter back from God.

Instead you have something better. It's called prayer. Yes, you must pray to the Father in Jesus' Name (John 15:16) and pray according to God's Will, the Bible (1 John 5:14). Other than that, prayer is just talking to God.

However if you were to talk with your friend, and they didn't respond, it would be a very one-way conversation. That's the way most people are with God. They do all the talking.

I make time every morning to fellowship with God. I speak His Word over my life. I pray and read the Word. Then I take Him with me throughout my day. I talk to Him when I have a problem, when I am frustrated, angry, whatever.

However, I make special time to listen to what He has to say. I learned early on that God speaks to me in restrooms--mine at home, in restaurants or whatever facilities I am in. It is our special place. It is where I listen to what He is speaking to my spirit, but it took practice to hear Him well.

Not only do you need to talk to God, but you need to listen as well. Then you will know what is on God's heart concerning you. Through your communication, your conversations with him, you will get to know Him better. Then your relationship with Him won't seem so one-sided.

Another way to become more intimate with God is through your praise, worship and thanksgiving.

Let's take them one at a time:

Praise (Psalm 100:4). What is praise?

Let’s say, your child receives straight A's or catches the winning pass in the championship state football game, what would you do? You would praise your child, of course, with a "Good job, Sally" or a "Wow, Bobby, that was a great catch."

When God does something spectacular in your life, though, do you acknowledge Him for what He has done?

Worship (Exodus 23:25). What is the difference between praise and worship? The churches categorize it by slow and fast music.

Praise, though, is acknowledging what God has done in your life. Worship is from the depths of your heart, focusing on Who God is. You acknowledge that He is your Healer (Isaiah 53:4-5, I Peter 2:24, III John 2). You acknowledge that He is your Peace (John 14:27). He is your every need fulfilled (Philippians 4:19).

God is God, and you must keep yourself in constant remembrance of Who He is rather than just what He does.

You don't want to just be known as the guy who can make a jump shot or the girl who can multiply five numbers in her head in five seconds. You want people to get to know you for you. And so does God.

Thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6, 1 Thessalonians 5:18). This is essential to changing your perspective, your attitudes and thoughts. You can look at a situation, such as getting a flat tire, as a negative experience. Or you can find one good aspect about it for which to be grateful. For instance, the tire could have blown and killed you.

You must discipline yourself to be grateful, to purposely find the good in every situation. Then you will become closer to God. You will have a better attitude, a better perspective.

If you want to have a closer relationship with God, you must spend time with Him. You have to listen to Him. You need to praise Him for what He's done. You must worship Him for who He is and be grateful in every situation. This is how your relationship with God will grow and become more intimate.

Prayer --- Part 1 Praise And Intercession

We have been taught that prayer is begging God to do something for us, and that we have to keep repeating it over and over, because perhaps he is deaf, or he doesn't want to listen, or he doesn't want to do something for us. This is a myth that has been created by religion because they do not understand the inner true nature and also because they do not understand how prayer works.

In my studies I have read and been guided by many pastors and preachers including by the internet, magazines and conferences from Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen. What Kenneth Copeland has said is that there are many types of prayer. There is a praise and worship type of prayer where you just praise and offer gratitude for all that the divine has done for you. You act as if everything that you want or need is already done, even if it is in the future. I believe what you are also doing is to activate the joy meter and you change the frequency of your body from a lower vibration to a higher vibration where manifestation occurs more easily. Joy, appreciation, gratitude, love, respect are all higher frequency vibrations in your energy field. They also attract higher frequency vibrations as you put it out or stay in this realm.

There is an intercession prayer that you pray for someone else which activates protection or healing on her/his behalf. From the Christian studies that I have pursued, it seems that angels or guides cannot act on the earth plane without specific contact from a human. When you pray for someone else you are establishing a connection for that person and you draw the angels in to work, assist, protect or to save that person. Many times in your life you will feel a great impulse to pray for someone or a situation not knowing that she/he is in grave danger. If you stop what you are doing and give over to that impulse as fast and as strong as you can, that person will receive the help that they need at that moment.

Let your life be guided in this manner and you will connect with a greater healing ability,
and be guided when and where to pray and for whom. Studies show that Prayers do work. We just have to begin to pray correctly. copyright 2006 Yoga Kat

Five Reasons To Pray

First of all, what is prayer? Prayer is the act of communicating with God. It doesn’t have to consist of the standard prayers we learned as a child. A prayer can consist of a simple phrase or two. “Lord, I’m thinking of you today. Please brighten my day and assist me in all that I do.”

An essential aspect of daily prayer is the belief that you are communicating with God. It is also vitally important that you have faith that your prayers will be answered. There are numerous passages from the bible extolling the virtues of prayer. The bible says:

“…prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well...” James 5:15
“Pray for each other so that you may be healed.” James 5:16
“Prayer produces prosperity.” Jeremiah 29:7
“Prayer provides wisdom.” James 1:4
“Prayer yields peace.” Phil 4:6-7

Personally, I like to engage in meditative prayer. Meditative prayers are series of prayers that are repeated over and over. My prayer of choice is the Rosary, which I say on a regular basis. A string of beads, called Rosary beads, are used to keep track of the prayers as they are recited. The Rosary allows me to focus on a particular subject as the prayers are repeated. Sometimes I’ll focus on my relationship with the Lord. Other times I’ll focus on a special request that I might have. In either case, I find it very relaxing, almost soothing. Although I have no proof, I believe that my blood pressure is lower when I engage in prayer. I also feel renewed and refreshed after a session of prayer. It’s similar to a form of meditation where a mantra is repeated over and over.
That brings me to the point of this article, five reasons to pray.

1. Numerous scientific studies indicate that prayer can have significant beneficial effects. These studies have shown that those who pray regularly tend to be happier, more peaceful, and healthier than those who don't.
2. Pray on a regular basis. That way, when the inevitable day comes and you finally arrive at the pearly gates, the Lord will recognize you.
3. Prayers are answered if you truly believe. This is the basis for the popular program called The Law of Attraction. In fact, the main thesis for this and the entire positive thinking industry is a quote taken directly from the bible:
“…all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Matthew 21:22
4. Pray for your children, your spouse, your parents, and yourself. Aren’t they worth it?
5. As I mentioned above, I find it very relaxing and feel that my blood pressure is lower when I pray. Your blood pressure doctor will thank you for it.

For those of you who say you don’t have the time to pray, you can use one of the many prayer CD’s that will lead you in prayer. You can play the CD in your car during your commute or in a portable CD player while walking or exercising. This is an excellent way to make your time more productive. Get Abundance and Prosperity By Being a Blessing

We cannot be blessed without first being a blessing. We are to keep God first in our lives, then people second, and then ourselves last. Only in this order can we be a blessing and be blessed ourselves.

When Jesus said, "Ask the Father anything in My name and He will give it to you" (John 16:23), He did not intend for this to be a license to treat God as some cosmic bell-boy who should come and cater to our every whim.

When Jesus said, "Ask the Father anything in My name," He meant that you should ask according to His will. Unless you ask according to His will your prayers will be ineffective. James 4:3 says, "You ask and do not receive because you ask amiss, that you may consume it upon your own lusts."

So, how do we ask according to His will, have our prayers answered, and be successful? The answer is, by abiding in Him.

Jesus said, "Abide in me, and I will abide in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abides in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing" (John 15:4-5).

The meaning of the word "abide," means "to live" or "to dwell." So, when Jesus said, "Abide in Me," He meant that we are to submit to Him and let Him have full reign in our lives, allowing Him to lead. Since Jesus Christ and the Word of God are one in the same (John 1:14), when we abide in Christ, we abide in the Word.

When we abide in the Word, we are allowing God to instruct us and teach us in the way we should go (Psalm 32:8). He will also guide us to pray according to His will, and then our prayers will have a guaranteed effect.

Again, we cannot be blessed without first being a blessing. So remember, you are created unique with different characteristics, skills, and abilities. These gifts are then to be used to minister to, meet the needs of, and bless other people. When you use them for what they are meant for, you will then be ultimately blessed.

Angels Among Us Part 1

Look around you and you will see them. Close your eyes and you will feel them. I'm talking about angels. They come in many forms, many colors, and many sizes, including male, female, and animal forms. They have different roles and serve different purposes. There are healing angels, messenger angels, protective angels, warrior angels, guide angels, teaching angels, and angels that inhabit certain places.

Angels are super compassionate beings that vibrate at a very high frequency, so consequently they are flooded with brilliant light in their natural form. There are hundreds and thousands of them with us. They need human prayers, either spoken out loud or in thought to move them to action. There is a symbiotic relationship between humans and the angelic beings. They cannot interfere unless they are asked through prayer or meditation.

That's why anyone could be directed in a moment to pray for a total stranger, so that the angels may act even half way across the world. Angels also can be directed or commanded into action long before an accident or a tragedy has occurred, because you have already called them and released them into action by your words or your thoughts on a continuous basis long before anything has happened. If you are moved to pray for someone or some place and you don't know why, just stop and pray. Direct angels to work on the behalf of the person or place that you are praying for.

If you don't know the cause of your urgency to pray release and call all angels that may be appropriate. Call the healing angels, guide angels, warrior angels and protective angels. Speak to them directly and tell them that you want them to go immediately to the person or place that you are feeling or seeing at the time. "Angels protect her/him, help her/him right now. Do everything that you need to do to help her/him." Or you could say, "I wrap this place in light right now. Warrior angels stand guard right now." You can be very specific with them, or you can be more vague. But as clearly as you can direct them, it will ensure that the mission will get done very accurately and swiftly. The very precise angel for the job will be assigned. If you don't know what to say, just say "Angels I command you to help her/him in every way that is needed right now."

If there is healing to be done, that job is usually done by two or three angels. It is very rare that only one angel is required on a healing mission. Each one of us has a guardian angel that is always with us. When we gather in a group of people, thousands of guardian angels gather with us, at least one guardian per person. But there may be two or three assigned to one person at any given time. When we sing and worship, thousands of angels come to sing and hear the sounds and join in to celebrate. The Angels release a lot of joy and ecstasy in times of celebrations and prayer. One of their natural components is joy. They radiate joy and happiness.

When you direct them, you cannot direct them to manipulate, to hurt anyone, or destroy anything. They work on higher level of love and compassion and they will work with the best intention for everyone. They respect the free will of each person. For example, you cannot direct them to make someone love you or to be with you. You may pray or meditate that the best solution be done for all that are involved. Then the angels will act in the highest manner for each person. You may also pray that she/he be helped to see their ignorance of a situation. I'm sure you have had an encounter with an angel or two, maybe you didn't even know it. But they are here!! So if you feel directed to pray on someone's behalf, start praying, the Angels will take care of the rest.copyright 2006 Yoga Kat

Or that Dmitry Mendeleyev, a brilliant 19th century chemist and physicist recreated the Periodic Table during his waking hours after it appeared to him in it's entirety in a dream?

Or if Dr. Jonas Salk had chosen to ignore his dreams, the polio vaccine might never have existed?

Did you know that dreams inspired everything from Elias Howe's invention of the sewing machine to Thomas Edison's invention of the light bulb?

And here's possibly... The Biggest Shocker Of All...

Did you ever know that the Theory of Relativity came to Einstein in a dream?

In her book, "Wake Up to Your Dream" Sandra Collier discussed how dreaming affected Albert Einstein.

Hear Einstein himself tell his dream:

"I was sledding with my friends at night. I started to slide down the hill but my sled started going faster and faster. I was going so fast that I realized I was approaching the speed of light. I looked up at that point and I saw the stars. They were being refracted into colors I had never seen before. I was filled with a sense of awe. I understood in some way that I was looking at the most important meaning in my life."

Years later, Einstein said, "I knew I had to understand that dream and you could say, and I would say, that my entire scientific career has been a meditation on my dream."

Whoa! That's from the man acknowledged as the greatest scientist who ever lived!

Let me ask you a question:

"Do you even bother with your dreams?" Did you know that...

The Secrets of Your Greatness Have Already Been Given to You in Your Dreams?"

Or (this is a scary one)...

"Do you ever consider that many times you have even received warnings in your dreams... and due to lack of understanding you may have unknowingly allowed some nasty things to happen to you?"

Let's look at this sobering example...

The President's Case

A few days before he was killed, Abraham Lincoln said that he was impressed by the number of prophetic dreams in the Bible.

When his wife asked him why he'd brought this up, Lincoln related a dream he just had.

He was wandering through the halls of the White House trying to find out where the sound of weeping people was coming from. His search led him to the East Room where he saw a coffin lying on a platform, guarded by soldiers and surrounded by a throng of mourners.

"Who is dead?" he asked in the dream.

"The president, killed by an assassin" was the answer.
The loud grieving sobs of mourners finally awoke Lincoln from the dream.

We all know the rest of the story... Lincoln was killed by an assassin's bullet a few days later.

 THE DISCIPLES' PRAYER

By Walter De Voe, Excerpt from the public domain works of Healing Currents from the Battery of Life written in 1919

Our Father!

Father of all souls, who art in the pure, heavenly state within all souls, who art the Soul of souls — hallowed be Thy Name of Love.

Thy wisdom and love are revealed in the peaceful purity and in the grace and perfection of our souls. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in mind and body as it is done in our souls.

May Thy kingdom of love and justice become manifest to all beings in human and animal forms; may Thy almighty Will, which bringeth peace and plenty, be done on earth as it is done in heavenly realms.

Give us this day our daily bread; supply all our necessities and satisfy all our desires from the goodness of Thy omnipresent Mind. Feed us spiritually with the Bread of Life, that we may grow strong in the wisdom and dominion of Thy Spirit.

Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Dissolve from us all condemnation and teach us to see the angel of Thy Presence in all; inspire us with Thy love and compassion for all souls, that we may quicken and resurrect the latent goodness and power in souls incarnate.

Lead us in victory over all temptation, and deliver us from even the appearance of evil. Let us feel the attraction of Thy Spirit leading us to freedom from all earthly attractions, that we may fulfill the laws of the soul-life as sons of God — joint heirs with Christ in the purity and power of God.
